If there was one place I’ve always said I want to retire, it’s the Carolinas. Talk about a beautiful place to live and so great for families! There are amazing parks, adorable neighborhoods, great local businesses, and just beautiful southern charm everywhere you look. Matthew and I had planned to go this summer to the Charlotte, NC and near by Fort Mill, SC to visit some family friends. When Katherine reached out to me about a family session this summer, it worked out perfectly for us to come down to visit her family as well! Katherine and I went to college together briefly and it was so good to see her and her family after 10 years! Since we last saw each other, she married to her highschool sweetheart Sean and they have 3 adorable children!!
We met at Freedom Park in Charlotte, NC in the morning, before the heat of the day, and there were so many beautiful locations for photos! There’s lots of amazing trees, bushes and flowers as well as a large pond with lots of ducks! We found bridge that made for a great portrait location. I loved getting to know each of her children and hearing about their adventures moving around the US while Sean was in the military. They have settled in Charlotte now and are loving life in the Carolinas. It was an absolute joy to photograph this beautiful family! Here are some of my favorites! (Also, isn’t this such an amazing park?!? I’d shoot here all the time if I lived closer!)
