Annie and Luca | A Newborn Session in Steubenville Ohio

11 days NEW! This sweet baby boy was such a joy to photograph! Little Luca graced the world with his presence 11 days before his due date ! So that means I was photographing this little guy on his actual due date! I kept saying to Annie all through the session, “I can’t believe he’s here! I feel like I was just shooting your maternity photos!!”

The session took place at Annie’s home in Steubenville Ohio. I LOVE taking lifestyle newborn photos. All the natural interactions between mama and baby, in their home environment. Taking newborn photos ALWAYS makes me 1) think back to the time my sweet children were newborns and 2) it makes me want to have another baby! And I have an 8 month old!! But she seems so big, so old when looking at a newborn! Newborns have such a special smell, adorable sounds, and such cute movements! Their diapers and clothes are so tiny and this phase goes by SO. QUICKLY. This is why I think like newborn photos are so important! It freezes time and gives you a window to look back at all the precious details of those early days. You can see the fuzzy hair, the tiny nose, the perfect little fingers, the sleepy cuddles with your tiny baby.

I loved the theme of little Luca’s nursery. There was so much joy and color throughout it. I noted to Annie as I was shooting the the colorful bedding almost made a rainbow of colors behind Luca, which was so fitting for this rainbow baby!
