Summer is in full swing here! This month was full of fun for the kids! It’s been such a joy watching how our kids grow and change throughout each summer. We are in toddler/young kid mode around here and I started both kids in some summer activities! Grace has begun gymnastics which is absolutely adorable. I go with her each week and she seems to be a natural! John has also started gymnastics as well as a dance class. Another fun activity has been summer camps for John! At the beginning of June he had his first camp and it was Olympics themed. He came home each afternoon very ready for a nap! It was nice for him to have something planned each morning for a week and he loved all the physical activity! The second camp was Ninja themed which was a hit! He LOVED this one and was all about being a ninja at home.
We spent more evenings in our backyard playing on the swingset. They have gotten really good at climbing backwards up the slide and we have been trying to teach job how to pump his legs on the swing. Still hasn’t figured it out yet but we’re hoping it will click soon!
About midway through the month we flew to Dallas, TX and spent a weekend there. We had an engagement session there and spent time with friends too! We can’t wait to go back in December for the wedding! It was our first time flying since the pandemic but overall it wasn’t that bad!
Towards the end of the month we went to Cincinnati to visit friends and the kids enjoyed playing with their kids! It was such a wonderful weekend and I definitely want to go back soon! I love the city of Cincinnati! We went out on a date with our friends and went to this increible bistro. I had mussels for the first time and oh my goodness, I think I’m hooked. They were incredible!!
At the end of June we flew to Minnesota to visit Matthew’s family. We spent some time at a local lake that had a beach and playground. We also drove to the Schaefer family farm and the kids loved seeing the cows!
It was a very full month and it is so hard to believe but we are halfway done with 2020! I’m looking forward to the rest of the summer. It is jam packed with weddings and engagement sessions so I will be very busy doing what I love!
Here’s some snapshots from the past month!
