God and family. Two things that clearly stood out to me this past weekend.
Leah and Jacob were married in a beautifully intimate backyard wedding in the Fingerlakes Region of NY, near Skaneateles, NY. The brightly colored fall leaves that blanketed the ground were the inspiration for the stunning wedding pallet. Dusty blues, mossy greens, rusty oranges and bright yellows made this wedding something to behold and everyone commented on the stunning florals! Every detail of this Central NY wedding was thought through with care and attention.
But the biggest takeaway from this wedding was the focus of the day: God and family. It was abundantly clear how important these two things were to Leah and Jacob. From incorporating 7 rings bearers and 4 flower girls into the bridal party to the parents of the couple praying over them during the ceremony, it was clear that God was at the center of this family event. Jesus was a welcomed guest at this wedding and the prayerfulness of the entire day had a profound impact on me.
Leah and Jacob told us that from the moment that they met, they talked about their passion for faith and family and it was this shared set of priorities that initially drew them to one another and ultimately brought them to their wedding day. This couple is absolutely incredible and I was inspired by their love and integrity. A comment made by Jacob during portraits I think says it all “normally I’m not that into photos but I try to do everything to the best of my ability.” Wow. Just wow. It reminded me of Matthew and how he approaches life and I know why Leah was so drawn to Jacob. A man of faith and integrity is such a wonderful gift!
It was such a blessing to get to know this couple and their family this weekend and we are thrilled to share our favorite images on the blog! Leah and Jacob thank you so much for being such witnesses to God’s love and enduring faithfulness. We are beyond thrilled that you are husband and wife and it was such an honor to capture the story of your day. Enjoy your honeymoon in Lake Placid and I hope this blog post brings back all the wonderful memories of your wedding day!
xoxo,
Laura
