Terracotta + Taupe Wedding at Oglebay Resort | Alyson + Jacob

The last Saturday of June arrived and it was a beautiful sunny day.  Alyson and Jake were married in a beautiful ceremony at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV. The day began at the cottages where both sides of the bridal party got ready.  We began with details and then the bridesmaids popped some champagne (reminiscent of Alyson and Jake’s engagement session). Alyson chose terracotta and taupe for her bridesmaids dresses along with blue for the groomsmen.  I am loving this multicolored bridesmaids dress trend! This color palette popped off the greenery of the trees around the Oglebay property.

After everyone was ready, we headed to the iconic Oglebay Mansion where Alyson and Jake shared a first look.  It was so sweet to see just how happy these two were to see each other and how excited they were to get married.  We finished up with bridal party photos and then it was time for the ceremony by the iron gates.  After saying their vows and sharing a kiss, these two were married and Jake joyfully shouted “guys, we did it!! Whoo!”

Their reception was in the Pine Room and during the toasts, I learned of Alyson’s love of plants.  You could see it reflected in the decor, with the beautiful greenery above the head table and the adorable little succulents in terracotta pots as favors! Such pretty details made for a beautiful reception! After dinner and some dancing, we headed out for sunset photos to end the evening!

Alyson and Jake, we are so happy for you two!  It was an honor to capture your wedding day. We loved celebrating with you and we hope you’re having an amazing honeymoon!
