Traditional Latin Mass Wedding at Our Lady Help of Christians in Buffalo | Katherine + Daniel

When Katherine slipped into her wedding dress and pretty blue shoes, we all stepped back in awe! Katherine had made this dress, taking elements she liked from other dresses and designing her own! As we were admiring her work, especially the beautiful tulle skirt, she smile to me and said “I wanted my dress to be “straight outta 1962″ like my missal!”

Katherine and Daniel were married in a beautiful historic little chapel near Buffalo, NY.  I HIGHLY recommend reading the history of Our Lady Help of Christian’s Chapel, the faith of the Batt family that built the chapel is incredible and inspiring! Katherine and Daniel discovered the TLM in 2021 together and have fallen in love with the ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Church.  Their traditional Latin Mass wedding was beautiful and I loved their incorporation of the velatio nuptialis, or nuptial veil during the nuptial blessing.

One of my favorite moments of the day was when Katherine gave her gift to Daniel.  Daniel lost his mother at a young age and before she died, she had written a note in a children’s book for Daniel at Christmas.  Katherine sent a picture of the note to an artist who embroidered the handwritten note onto a handkerchief.  I was tearing up as I photographed it laying on the original book, what an incredibly thoughtful gift! When Katherine gave it to Daniel, oh my, it was such a tender, raw and sweet moment for these two.  It was so clear how well these two know each other and how much they deeply love and care for one another.

Katherine and Daniel, we are so excited for you two and for the work God has done in your lives and for where He will take your new family. God bless you both and take lots of pictures on your honeymoon in Norway!
