On the vigil of Divine Mercy Sunday, Audrey and Sean were married in Indianapolis at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. It was a quintessential spring day, with happy spring flowers and the sun streaming through the newly blossomed leaves on the trees. Being married within the Octave of Easter is such a special thing. Each day is a solemnity, considered just as sacred and grace-filled as Easter Sunday. And there was extra sacramental grace this day because these two were entering into the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Both Audrey and Sean got ready with their family and friends. Sean’s family is from Scotland so he wore the traditional kilt. After they were dressed and ready, they headed to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
This church and specific wedding date were of particular importance to Audrey. It was the same church where her parents were married on the same day! What a gift to share the same anniversary in the same church as your parents!
After the beautiful nuptial Mass, it was time to head to the reception at the Woodland Country Club in Carmel, IN. Because it was such nice weather, there was time for sunset photos by the pond on the golf course.
I wanted to extend a big thank you to my dear friends Mary Kate and Deirdre. They filled in for me as the photographers for this wedding, as I had just given birth to our son a week prior. I was so confident that Audrey and Sean were in capable hands, and they did an awesome job!
Audrey and Sean, Matthew and I are so thrilled for you two. May God bless you both!!
