Traditional Latin Mass Wedding at St. Rita Catholic Church in Alexandria VA and Congressional Country Club | Nicole + Michael

Our first wedding of 2025 was a gorgeous Traditional Latin Mass wedding in Alexandria, VA.  It was such an elegant day with hints of blue and gold throughout.  Nicole and Michael’s wedding day was picture-perfect from beginning to end and the overarching theme was heavenly joy!  Jesus had brought these two together through their shared love of traveling, sports and of course their Catholic faith.

Their wedding day was a sunny one, albeit a little cold but that was to be expected for early February in Northern Virginia.  I began the day with Nicole and her family and friends in her childhood home.  As the girls chatted and got ready, I busily arranged her gorgeous details!  Then it was time to put on the dress! Nicole looked stunning in her gown as her mom buttoned up the delicate buttons.  Putting on her veil, the picture was complete! She was ready to head to the church and get married!

We headed to St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA where Michael was ready to marry his best friend.  They both shared a love for the Traditional Latin Mass. The priest was Fr. Joseph Lee, FSSP who had flown in from Nebraska. Nicole’s family had met him while attending the Chartres pilgrimage in France.  He gave one of the best wedding homilies I’ve heard and joyfully witnessed the Rite of Marriage.

After Mass, we headed to the Congressional Country Club which held special significance.  Nicole’s parents had their reception at this same venue years before!  The Congressional Country Club was a stunning spot for their reception! We headed out onto the golf course for some amazing views looking back at the clubhouse. Though it was windy and quite cold, Nicole and Michael were such troopers and we got some gorgeous portraits.  It was time to head back into the warmth of the country club and into their beautifully decorated ballroom.  Every detail was perfectly executed, down to the fancy butter in the shape of the nation’s capitol building.

After a delicious dinner, it was time for the party! Nicole had gone to college at Christendom and the band was made up of alumni! It was such a fun party and the dance floor was filled with family and friends! I loved how many young families and children there were, it created such a joyful atmosphere!

Nicole and Michael, it was such a joy to serve you both! Your wedding day was nothing short of perfect and we are so thrilled for you two! May God bless you both!

xoxo,

Laura
