As Catholic wedding photographers, we’re constantly in awe of how God’s grace unfolds through each couple’s story. Every wedding we photograph is a reflection of the beauty of the sacrament — a glimpse of Christ’s love made visible. Grace and Joey’s wedding day in Hinsdale, Illinois, was one of those days that reminded us why we do what we do. It was peaceful, prayerful, and filled with joy that could only come from the Holy Spirit.
You never quite know what November will bring in the Midwest — sometimes it’s snow, sometimes sunshine — but for Grace and Joey’s wedding day, the Lord gifted them the most beautiful fall day and trees still bursting with color. The golden leaves framed their day with such warmth and beauty, the perfect backdrop for a couple whose love radiates the joy of the Gospel.
Grace began her wedding morning in the most peaceful way imaginable — spending ninety minutes in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in her parish’s adoration chapel. Surrounded by quiet and grace, it was such a fitting way to begin a day rooted in prayer and thanksgiving for the gift of Joey and their impending nuptials. Afterward, she returned to her childhood home to get ready alongside her family and friends — a space filled with years of laughter, memories, and love.
Her gown was custom-made, elegant and timeless, perfectly suited to her gentle spirit. Joey looked sharp in his custom suit, which had a special hidden detail — their wedding date embroidered inside the collar.
The ceremony took place at St. Isaac Jogues in Hinsdale, the same church where Grace received all her sacraments of initiation: Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. As the bridal party processed down the aisle to the Litany of the Saints, there was such a sense of Heaven and earth coming together — the communion of saints surrounding and blessing this new marriage. When Grace walked down the aisle, Joey couldn’t hold back his tears, a moment of pure love and awe.
The couple’s devotion to the Holy Spirit was woven throughout their day. They prayerfully chose each of their Mass readings, creating a liturgy that reflected their shared desire to let the God guide their marriage.
Following the Nuptial Mass, family and friends gathered for a joyful reception at Ruth Lake Country Club, where the celebration continued late into the evening. A live band kept the dance floor packed and full of energy! I am a huge fan of live bands and how they can bring such life and fun to the reception!
Grace and Joey’s wedding day was a witness — to the beauty of the sacrament, to the joy found in living faith deeply, and to the grace that flows when a couple invites the Holy Spirit into every moment.
Grace and Joey, thank you for inviting us to capture your day. It was a privilege to witness the love of God so clearly reflected in your marriage. May God bless you abundantly, and we look forward to seeing what God has in store for your new family!
xoxo,
