There is something especially meaningful about getting married in the place where your story first began, and that was exactly the case for Maria and Ansel.
Their July wedding at Saint Christopher Church in Grandview Heights, Ohio was filled with bright summer colors, Christ-like joy, wholesome friendships, and the unmistakable reminder of God’s providence. Surrounded by family and friends, they began their vocation to love each other to Heaven in the very parish where they first met.
Maria and Ansel met through the Young Catholic Professionals group at Saint Christopher Church, where a shared faith and community eventually led them to one another. Their parish community has remained an important part of their lives, and it was especially sweet to see so many members of their bridal party made up of friends they had met through Saint Christopher’s over the years.
A vibrant color palette of burnt orange (Maria’s favorite color), bright pink, and navy blue, Maria and Ansel’s color choices perfectly captured the essence of a summer wedding! And continuing the theme of summer weddings, there was a bit of rain but it didn’t take away from the excitement of their day. The rain held off long enough to have a bubble exit from their church and a few portraits in a park before the skies really opened up. But they were such troopers and we pivoted with our plans and found alternative locations that worked out nicely!
After portraits, it was time for the party! We headed to the Grand Event Center at Grandview Yard in Grandview Heights for a lively reception. The evening was full of heartfelt toasts, delicious food, and an incredible live band that kept the dance floor packed all night long. I personally love when a couple opts for a live band, it’s always so engaging and creates an awesome atmosphere for guests to enjoy the dancing portion of the reception.
Maria and Ansel, thank you for inviting us to be part of such a sacred and special day. We pray that the Lord continues to bless your marriage with abundant joy, steadfast faith, and the grace to grow ever closer to Him and to one another in the years ahead.
