May 10, 2021
April began with Holy Week and Easter and it set the tone for the rest of the month. It was a month filled with joy! We all could feel the newness of spring. The days were bright, warm and the flowers on the trees were putting on a show. We did have a *brief* stint with a springtime snowfall, but it was short, it melted and we all just want to forget about that!
Sharing the story of the Passion, Death and Ressurection of Jesus with my kids this year was so beautiful. John really absorbed the story and for the first time he seemed to ‘get it’. It is one of the best parts of parenthood, being able to share the faith with your children. After Holy Thursday Mass we came home and Matthew and I washed our kids’ feet. It was such a sacred and tender moment, showing our children how Jesus loved and served his apostles. John immediately wanted to wash our feet and that just melted my heart.
We are continuing to celebrate Easter, just a few more weeks left in this season. Having 50 full days to celebrate the resurrection is something I am appreciating more and more as I get older. It really allows one to enter into the celebration and season rather than just one day that comes and goes.
Here’s a few snippets from this past month!

I found Grace napping on the bench. This is a whole new level of tired. She has been going through a nap transition so some days she refuses to nap and then other days I will find her passed out in the oddest places.
