Brianna + Matthew | A Downtown Pittsburgh Engagement Session

You know when you meet someone, even over social media, and you instantly know you could be best friends with them? That’s how I felt when Brianna first messaged me about photographing her wedding next June. When we met them in downtown Pittsburgh for their engagement session, I just KNEW we would be the perfect fit for them and their wedding! They are a joyful and genuine couple who love the Lord and each other so deeply. They were SUCH a dream to photograph!

Talking with Brianna about their story, how the Lord has worked in their lives to bring them together and how He continues to show them His love daily, I couldn’t help but think back to Matthew’s and my own engagement and how it was such grace filled time of joy and anticipation. Being engaged and planning a wedding doesn’t have to be a time of stress and tension. It should hopefully be a time of growing ever deeper in love and in commitment to each other as well as excitement for the upcoming wedding! Yes, there’s a lot of planning that goes into a wedding, but my hope as a wedding photographer is to help alleviate that stress in any way I can. When I chatted with Bri about how wedding planning was going, she told me all about the details that she’s already nailed down. She and Matt have event planning in both their backgrounds and I literally laughed out loud when she told me “this is the Superbowl of planning that I’ve been preparing for my whole life”. SO SO excited for their wedding day next June! It’s going to be epic!

Bri and Matt wanted to do a downtown Pittsburgh engagement session and they picked out some AMAZING locations! We started their session at Point State Park where the three rivers meet in Pittsburgh. There are SO many options for places to shoot here and we had PERFECT weather! They were such naturals in front of the camera which made our job super easy! We walked them through our posing system that we teach all of our couples and they picked it up so quickly! This will make their wedding day portraits go so smoothly! Our second location was the North Shore of Pittsburgh and let me tell you, we could have stayed here forever… so many unique locations for photos there as well! It’s right by Heinz Field, the Steeler’s football stadium, and we finished up their session with some quintessential Pittsburgh sports lovers photos, rockin’ the Black & Yellow!

You really couldn’t miss with this session: joyful couple + gorgeous locations + perfect weather = a dream engagement session! As I was editing through their photos, I kept thinking “how am I going to narrow this down for their blog post??” Well I managed, sort of…. there were just so many to pick from! So here are what I think are the best of the best from their downtown Pittsburgh engagement session and I’m so so pleased with how they turned out! So Bri and Matt, enjoy!!
