The Midwife Center, Pittsburgh PA | Atlas Lee

Talina is one of my dearest friends. When she told me that she and Jeremiah were expecting their second child, I was SO excited for them! Their oldest child, Cambria Jonas is one of John’s best friends; they have known each other since birth and I love seeing them grow up and go to school together. And now Grace has a little playmate to grow up with….Atlas Lee! (Aren’t their name choices just the best?? I love when people choose unique and meaningful names!)

Talina planned to deliver little Atlas at The Midwife Center in Pittsburgh, PA.  She told me that her whole prenatal experience there had been fantastic and she was looking forward to actually delivering there! A few weeks before the due date, Talina asked me if I would be available to take photos of their sweet babe, preferably within the first 48 hours.  I told her depending on his arrival date, I would love to be able to do this!  And little man made his arrival 5 days early which worked out perfectly!

I arrived at the Midwife Center 6 hours after his birth! 6 hours!! He was so new, so fresh, so perfect! I teared up as I walked into the room, looking at Talina holding her sweet baby boy.  She looked ah-mazing! This amazing woman had just given birth and she just looked stunning, in all the glory of motherhood!

Pittsburgh, PA is home to The Midwife Center which is an incredible birth center with beautiful birth suites. Talina told me all about her labor and delivery and it always amazes me how unique each baby and labor truly are and how the birth of your first child can differ so greatly from the birth of your second.  Each story is beautiful.  Each story has a powerful mother who labors, with literally blood, sweat and tears and a new life emerges into this world.

Sweet little Atlas Lee is so cherished by his mommy, daddy and big sister. It was such an honor to capture that tender love during those first few hours post birth. Welcome Atlas Lee. I can not wait to see what God has in store for you sweet one.
