George Eastman House Summer Engagement Session | Alexa + Matthew

Alexa and Matt first met just down the road from where we began their engagement session. So when I suggested we use the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY for the first location of their session, they loved the idea.  Matthew and I ALSO loved the idea since this is actually where WE had our engagement session 6 years ago! It was so fun to walk around the grounds again but now as photographers!

We absolutely loved getting to know Alexa and Matt during their session.  They are just the sweetest couple, so easy to talk to, so welcoming and warm.  We chatted about their wedding plans and how things have been planning with so much unpredictability. We are just so excited for their 2021 wedding on Canandaigua Lake (the same lake where we had our wedding reception!).  Their reception will be at The Lake House, the stunningly gorgeous new wedding venue that just opened on the northern tip of Canandaigua Lake.  We are SO excited to shoot here! If this place had been open when we got married, we would have totally had our reception there!

The second location was picture perfect for sunset: Sea Breeze Pier and Beach on Lake Ontario. When we arrived, it was so windy!  But it worked in our favor and we got some great sunset shots as the sun dipped behind some clouds and the horizon!

This session was so special to me personally as this is where I grew up! Though I call Ohio home now, Rochester, NY will always be my first home! It was such a blessing to be able to go back to my hometown for an engagement session and we will be back next summer for their wedding! Alexa and Matt, we can not wait!!
