Imagine the most perfect early fall day, the warm sun shining, some passing clouds and ending the day with a cool breeze. Ok now picture a beautiful Airbnb on a farm in the country, a large white tent lit with string lights and filled with your closest and dearest friends and family. The sounds of laughter, music and dancing filling the air as the sun sets over the rolling hills. Now you have just a taste of the beauty of Sarah and Jacob’s wedding day in Steubenville, OH.
Though they were originally planning on a California wedding, their plans changed due to the covid restrictions in California. They decided to keep their wedding date but move the wedding to Steubenville, OH and be married in Christ the King Chapel on the campus of Franciscan University. Sarah and Jacob originally met in Steubenville and plan to continue to live here so it was fitting that they were married here.
Everything about their day was picture perfect, from the gorgeous details at the beginning of the day, to the stunning BHLDN gown and veil. But the detail that stole the show were the florals….everyone was talking about them! As you’ll see from the blog post, they were a favorite of mine too! Florals have the ability to elevate a wedding in a way that no other detail can! I love the pop of color throughout the florals, rich and bright pinks, lush greens and happy oranges. Even the shape of Sarah’s bouquet was perfect and made for amazing bridal portraits! I could go on and on about the florals but I should just let the images speak for themselves.
Sarah and Jacob, we hope you are enjoying your Cabo honeymoon! Kick back, relax and get ready to relive your wedding day (warning, this may be the largest wedding blog post ever….it was so hard to pick favorites!) Thank you so much for trusting us with capturing the happiest day of your lives. Your wedding day was perfect and we will never forget it (especially the best man speech!)
xoxo,
Laura
Sarah included some family heirlooms and pictures in her details box. I loved arranging all of her details to showcase the old and new, the borrowed and the blue. Yay for loads of details to work with!
Pretty sure this was the largest bridal party we’ve ever had!! Shoutout to Matthew for finding this perfect spot that could contain them all in the shade! I love how much fun you can have with a large bridal party! There were also 7 flower girls and a ring bearer which you will see later!
Jacob’s older brother DJ, now Br. Bosco, recently entered the Benedictines but he was able to come out for the wedding Mass. I am so thankful that I was able to capture images of the couple with him. As he was saying goodbye, see you next year, it made me start to tear up. My own little sister joined the Dominicans 8 years ago and she wasn’t able to attend my wedding. I know on a personal level the sacrifice of a family with a child/sibling in religious life. Say a prayer for Br. Bosco and the Hough’s!
The greatest best man speech…..ever. It made everyone present cry and laugh at the same time. The bond of love between these two siblings is something I hope my children will have! It was so inspiring.
