March 18, 2021
Snow, Sun, Snow. That was the theme of Feburary 2021. We began the month with loads of snow. We even had a string of snow days! John and Grace were thrilled by the blanket of white in our backyard. Matthew shoveled the snow off the driveway in the back into a large pile for the kids to climb. We had snowball fights and they even built a snowman. Heading out into the snowy backyard was a daily occurance.
We then traveled to Florida for a quick weekend trip. We stayed at the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. Since it was a quick trip, we decided to just hang out at the pool, explore our resort and walk around Disney Springs. It was the perfect escape from the cold wintry weather and it was so refreshing to wear summer outfits.
When we arrived back home, there was more snow on the ground. To be honest, I prefer the snow to just gray, cold days. If it’s going to be cold, it should at least be pretty and white! The kids played outside almost daily and Matthew bought John a shovel that was just his size. He loved going out and shoveling like Daddy.
For Valentine’s Day, Matthew and I went out to dinner at an awesome restaurant in Pittsburgh called Altius. We both agree that it was our favorite Valentine’s Day dinner to date. The ambiance and food were exceptional as was the service. We had a beautiful view of the city from our table and it was so lovely to watch the city light up as the sun set. We will definitely be returning to that restaurant!
We ended the month with the arrival of warmer weather and the snow began to melt. We got in some good sledding at the local park before it all went away. It was fun to blog the images from this month since it seemed like we had a blip of summer, bookended by winter. Enjoy the highlights from February!
xoxo,
Laura
