Catie and Brennan’s wedding day in Doylestown, PA was nothing short of amazing. They were blessed with the perfect spring day, warm weather and trees filled with blossoms. Their wedding Mass was at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Częstochowa which was the spot where Brennan had proposed to Catie.
The entire day was filled with joyful and prayerful moments. Catie had told me that before she and her bridesmaids got into their dresses, she wanted to pray a rosary with them. It was a peaceful pause to the morning, refocusing the morning on the Lord and offering up prayers for this couple as they prepare for the sacrament of matrimony.
Another moment of prayer that struck Matthew and me was something that most people might have missed. Just as the Mass began, after bridesmaids had walked down the aisle, they closed the doors and everyone eagerly anticipated them opening to reveal Catie. I looked over at Brennan and he had his head bowed in prayer. I was deeply struck by this moment, praying to God moments before his bride walked down the aisle to him. He blessed himself with the sign of the cross and opened his eyes as the doors opened. The look on his face was priceless: complete awe and wonder.
After the beautiful Mass at the Shrine, the newlywed couple went down to the Lourdes Grotto where Brennan had proposed and there they finished their consecration to Jesus through Mary by St. Louis de Montfort. Every moment of the day was filled with prayer. It was such a testament to this couple’s desire to live out their vocation to love and serve God in each other.
Their reception at The Warrington was an absolute blast! The speeches were touching and hilarious! Friends and family tore up the dance floor! It was a night to remember. One of my favorite things at Franciscan student weddings is when there are households involved. They have such funny and unique “traditions” to welcome the bride or groom into the household (some of which are made up on the spot!) Scroll down to see Catie’s reaction to Brennan and his friends!
Catie and Brennan, thank you so much for inviting us to share in your momentous day! We loved meeting all of your sweet family and friends! We are so inspired by your dedication to prayer as a couple and we can’t wait to see how God will use your family to further His kindgom. Enjoy reliving your wedding day!

Laura
