Schaefer Family Adventures: May 2021

May was an incredible month.  It began with a trip just for me to the panhandle of Florida.  I went to the very first Agape Creative Retreat in 30A Florida.  If you’ve never been to 30A. (I hadn’t before this) it is a set of picturesque towns along the gulf coast of Florida.  Each town is stunning and has it’s own aesthetic. My personal favorite was Rosemary Beach but we also explored Alys Beach and Seaside too!! I met amazing Christian creatives, most of whom work in the wedding industry.  It was exactly the kind of retreat I needed, just before we jumped into our busy wedding season! We spent time together, gathering in fellowship and growing in friendship. We went to the beach, walked around the cute towns, ate incredible food and even got massages at the iconic Pearl Hotel.  And when you get a bunch of photographers together, you are bound to come back with amazing images of yourself.  It seems odd to me to have a family blog post with so many images of myself, since these are usually mostly about my kids.  But I wanted to share some of the highlights of my time in Florida!

The rest of the month was time spent at home, in-between weddings. Matthew went to New Mexico for a mission trip and I stayed home with the kids. We had a backyard picnic with pizza and then had a bonfire complete with marshmallows. I tried out a new hairstyle for John.  His hair is long enough to be put in a man bun and he calls it his “Maui hair.” He looks so cute!

The end of the month was super warm and so pulled out the inflatable pool and the kids have played in it daily.  It felt like the month flew by and I know the rest of the summer will too with all the weddings! Before we know it, it will be August and school with start again!
