Sacred Heart Catholic Church + Grand Hall at the Priory Wedding | Maria + John

It seemed fitting that Maria and John’s Catholic wedding Mass was celebrated at Pittsburgh’s Sacred Heart Catholic Church, just a day after the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart.  This couple shares a love for the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary and their wedding colors of red and blue gave a nod to that devotion.

After getting ready for the day, Maria and John shared a first look in the recently restored Mellon Park in Pittsburgh. Maria was SO excited to finally show John her dress.  “We’ve shared every aspect of wedding planning together, except for this part.  I’m so excited to not have to keep the dress a secret anymore!”  John was equally as excited to see her!  Maria purposefully chose to do her first look without her veil so that she could wear it down the aisle and surprise John once again with a different look.  We are huge fans of this idea!

Maria and John’s nuptial wedding Mass was stunning.  The voices of the choir floated throughout this beautiful and giant church as Maria walked down the longest aisle in Pittsburgh.  Yes, you read that right.  This aisle is SUPER long and perfect for Maria’s stunning train and lace-trimmed veil.  Their Catholic wedding Mass was beautiful and reverent, you could tell that they knew that THIS was the most important part of their wedding day.

Their wedding reception was at the Grand Hall at the Priory. This was such a stunning and unique wedding venue with a ton of history. It also had a beautiful garden across the street where we took sunset photos as well as a lovely courtyard with string lights where they did their bubble exit at the end of the night. One of my favorite parts of the reception was when John’s Catholic men’s fraternity serenaded Maria with a beautiful rendition of the song “Red is the Rose” by the High Kings. It gave me goosebumps; it was absolutely stunning and its beauty brought Maria to tears!

Maria and John, we are so happy for you two.  Your deep love for the Catholic Faith and for each other was so inspiring.  We loved serving you two and hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in sunny Florida! God bless you both and we can’t wait to see what God does with your marriage to further His kingdom.

xoxo,

Laura
