Magenta and Blue Wedding at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio | Liz + Joe

Two years ago, Liz and Joe were married in St. Louis, MO and began their lives together as husband and wife. Their wedding was much smaller than originally planned due to the pandemic. Ever since then, they planned on having wedding 2.0 with a larger group of their family and friends.  This past weekend, their plans became a reality.

Wedding day 2.0 started off in a unique way with the whole bridal party getting ready together in the morning. The house was filled with laughter as old friends chatted, catching up on each others lives.  In the basement, the groomsmen were engaged in an intense ping pong game. It was such a relaxed and joyful environment.  Joe helped Liz with her shoes and you could see in his eyes just how much he loves her and how this love has grown through two years of marriage.

The Mass took place at a stunning church in downtown Akron.  Once you set foot inside of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, you were surrounded by such beauty.  The vow renewal Mass began with Joe and Liz walking together down the aisle. It was a beautiful image of the goal of marriage, walking together towards God. Through the renewal of their vows, they recommitted their lives to one another, promising to continue to be faithful to each other until death.  Their love that had deepened over the past two years was so evident in how they knowingly held each others hands and glanced at one another.

It was really important to them to have photos with their bridal party because this was missing from their original wedding day.  Their bridal party was a hoot! We had so much fun with them! When not being photographed, the groomsmen could be found playing frisbee! It was such a blast to spend the afternoon with the group of such great people!

Wedding 2.0 was a success and we are so thrilled for Joe and Liz! It’s made me want to plan my own vow renewal! Maybe for year 10?
