If you combined the deep love of the Catholic faith and the overwhelming joy of the gospel and infused that into a wedding day with Domicans and Norbertines, you would have Halle and John Paul’s wedding day in a nutshell. In all of my years of photographing over 100 weddings, I don’t think we have experienced such a high-energy, elegant, and joy-filled wedding day such as this! It truly was remarkable!
John Paul and Halle met while attending Providence College, and that word, providence, was the theme of their relationship. God’s fingerprints were clearly seen throughout their time dating, their engagement, and their wedding day! They creatively formatted their love story into a newspaper that their guests got to bring home! It was such a clever gift!
Their day began with getting ready in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. Halle gave me so many beautiful details and she also planned enough time in the timeline for me to capture them, which was perfect! Matthew was over with John Paul and his groomsmen and they had a ton of fun getting ready together. A huge shout-out to Isaac Ross, the videographer who made the day so much fun! It’s always a joy to work with a fellow Catholic vendor, and together we made a wedding day dream team!
We headed to Mass at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, a beautiful Catholic church in Green Bay. During their time at Providence College, Halle and John Paul became good friends with the Dominican priests there. These priests, along with a few other priests, all concelebrated their wedding Mass. It was a beautiful testament to the spiritual fatherhood that priests have had their lives.
After Mass, we went to the Norbertine Abbey in De Pere for portrait time. There was a beautiful field near the monastery, which made for amazing photos! We then headed back to downtown Green Bay to Gather on Broadway, which hosted their reception. It was an amazing evening of delicious food and drink, heartfelt and hilarious toasts, and lively dancing! The night was completed with a mountain of food from Culver’s for the ‘midnight snack’! So perfectly midwest!
