Julia and Christian’s engagement session was one of those days that reminded me why I love this job so much. It was a true winter afternoon at Ault Park: chilly air, soft gray skies, and just a dusting of snow lingering on the ground and yet it felt so warm in every way because of this couple and their love for each other. Despite the cold, Julia and Christian were absolute troopers. They laughed easily, stayed close (which honestly helped with the temperature), and I am so happy with the images that resulted.
This session was especially meaningful for me personally. I’ve had the incredible honor of photographing Christian’s older siblings’ weddings in the past, (which you can see HERE and HERE) and being trusted again by the same family for a third wedding season is something I never take lightly. Watching families grow and getting to serve them again and again and reconnect with past couples along the way is one of the greatest joys of this work.
Julia and Christian met in college, and you can tell their relationship is built on a deep friendship. They both come from wonderful Catholic families and share such a genuine excitement about starting a family of their own someday. There’s a steadiness and sweetness between them that feels so grounded. It’s the kind of love that’s quiet, intentional, and deeply rooted in their faith.
I’m already counting down the days to their wedding this fall in Julia’s hometown of Sandusky, Ohio. If their engagement session is any indication, their wedding day is going to be filled with joy, faith, and so much love and I’m beyond grateful to be part of it.
Julia and Christian, thank you for braving the cold with such grace and for trusting me once again with such meaningful memories. I can’t wait to celebrate you both again very soon!!
xoxo,
