When we sat down with Katie and Robert to chat about their vision for the Fourth of July weekend wedding in Northern Virginia, they immediately said “classic!” And as you’ll see from their images below, they were classic in every aspect of their day. From their beautiful Solemn High Nuptial Mass at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church to their stunning reception at Whitehall Estate to their classic car and the groom’s attire, everything was the epitome of class.
The weather for the day couldn’t have been more perfect, sunny with a high of 75 (Relient K anyone?) and there was no humidity! I arrived at Katie’s apartment where she and her sisters were getting ready for the day. Fun fact: two of her younger sisters have babysat for us so it was incredibly fun to spend the day with them! Matthew went over to Robert’s getting ready space and had a blast with the groomsmen. This was an incredibly fun bridal party with a ton of personality!
After everyone was dressed and ready for the Mass, the classic car arrived at Katie’s apartment along with her father. He had one of the sweetest, most tender, and raw reactions to seeing his oldest child in her wedding dress. I don’t think there was a dry eye in that room.
Their nuptial Mass was beautiful, reverent, and filled with joy. Katie and Robert chose beautiful traditional hymns and the whole church was filled with heavenly music. After the Mass, we headed to the lovely Whitehall Estate in Loudoun County. This venue has stunning grounds that were perfect for portraits. We had so much fun creating timeless images that were filled with joy and personality.
One of the best parts of photographing weddings is meeting the families of our sweet couples. Seeing the families, how they love and interact with each other, is such a life-giving part of our work. We absolutely loved spending time with Katie and Robert’s families and celebrating with them all evening long. These families really know how to party. The dance floor was packed, filled with energetic people, covered in smiles and sweat, tearing up the dance floor.
Katie and Robert, we are so thankful for the opportunity to pray with you throughout your engagement and wedding day! We will never forget your wedding and all the special moments it held! We hope you are enjoying your Floridian honeymoon!! Get ready to relive your classic wedding day!
