Some wedding days just feel timeless from the very beginning, and Maura and Eddie’s was exactly that. Their day was rooted in Catholic tradition, beauty and a deep understanding of the sacrament they were preparing to enter. From the historic grandeur of Old St. Mary’s in OTR to the Art Deco glamour of the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, their wedding day felt grounded in their faith and a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms. It reminded me why God is referred to by St. Augustine as “O Beauty ever ancient, ever new.”
Maura spent the morning getting ready at the Netherland Plaza, and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect for her style. She has always loved the Art Deco feel of the hotel, and it ended up shaping so much of the overall aesthetic of the day. The gold details, rich textures, and vintage glamour gave everything this old-world elegance that just fit. Her gown, with its intricate beading, echoed that same timeless design language in such a natural way.
One of my favorite details from Maura’s look was her hair: sparkling crystal clips inspired by Empress Sisi of the Habsburgs that gave her this subtle, almost regal feel. Paired with her lace-trimmed veil, she just looked radiant!
Their wedding Mass at Old St. Mary’s was incredibly moving. There’s something so powerful about the Traditional Latin Mass, and paired with Haydn’s Missa Brevis, the whole liturgy felt like a foretaste of heaven. I’ve always loved that in a TLM wedding, the marriage rite happens at the very beginning, and the couple then immediately attends Mass together, now as husband and wife. The couple is given the privilege to be up in the sanctuary the entire time and it feels like a private Mass!
After Mass, we stayed inside Old St. Mary’s for portraits, and it was honestly one of my favorite parts of the day. The stained glass poured light into the church in the most incredible way, and the way it moved through Maura’s veil made for some of the most striking and dramatic images.
Before heading to the reception, we stopped at Eden Park for bridal party photos. The greens of the park tied in perfectly with the bridesmaids’ dresses, and the florals added even more color and movement to everything. The energy here was so light and joyful—just friends laughing, breathing for a minute, and soaking it all in before the celebration continued.
As the evening continued back at the Netherland Plaza, the reception took on an almost cinematic feel. We leaned fully into the vintage glamour of the space, creating portraits that felt inspired by old Hollywood films. Between the dramatic lighting and art deco interiors, every reception portrait felt like a still frame from a classic movie.
Maura and Eddie, it was such an honor to document your wedding day. Every detail reflected who you are so beautifully, and your celebration was truly unforgettable. We are so excited to see how God leads your new family in the coming years! May God bless you both abundantly and we will see you at Mass!
Xoxo,
Laura
