Most days you can find us trying to keep up with our active kids while simultaneously attempting to get some kid’s song out of our heads.

CINCINNATI CATHOLIC WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

Amalia and Alex’s classic black and white wedding with pops of spring green at St. Gertrude Church and Queen City Club was such a joy-filled and refreshing day for us. As a Cincinnati Catholic wedding photographer, this was one of those wedding days I would happily capture over and over again if I could. You know when you walk into a room and immediately feel welcomed like family? That was this day from beginning to end.

We began the morning at Queen City Club in downtown Cincinnati. This historic wedding venue is absolutely stunning. Every room is beautifully decorated, with elegant architecture, rich details, and lovely works of art throughout the building. Amalia was getting ready in a suite with her mother and bridesmaids while Alex spent the morning with the guys on a lower level. Having such a beautiful getting-ready location always makes creating timeless portraits easier.

Amalia’s details and invitation suite perfectly reflected the classic style of their wedding day, and I loved arranging and photographing them while the girls finished getting ready. Meanwhile, Matthew was with the guys, capturing some of my favorite groomsmen portraits ever. They felt sophisticated, editorial, and perfectly suited to the elegance of a Queen City Club wedding.

The true showstopper for me was Amalia’s lace-trimmed veil. It flowed so elegantly around her frame and paired beautifully with the clean lines of her gown, creating the most stunningly feminine silhouette. Once she was dressed, she shared an emotional first look with her father and twin brother. One of the sweetest moments of the morning followed when they called her grandparents in Colombia and shared such a heartfelt conversation with them before the ceremony.

Soon it was time to head to St. Gertrude Church, one of Cincinnati’s most vibrant Catholic churches and home to the Dominicans! Alex and Amalia’s joy bubbled over throughout their Nuptial Mass. Watching them exchange vows and wedding rings was such a privilege. One of my favorite moments came just after they returned to their seats. They couldn’t stop looking at their new rings and smiling at each other…they were finally married!!

After Mass, we made our way to Ault Park for portraits before returning downtown for the reception at Queen City Club. The evening was filled with incredible food, tearful toasts, and exceptionally fun dancing. It was quite the celebration. We ended the night with a lively hora loca complete with fun hats, goofy glasses, and Amalia’s glowing cape. It was the perfect ending to a truly unforgettable wedding day.
