Kaitlyn and Nathaniel’s wedding day was a picturesque scene of vintage inspired elegance and sacramental grace.
Their wedding day began at the historic Drish House in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Stepping inside felt like stepping back in time, making it the perfect setting for Kaitlyn’s timeless bridal style. She wore a stunning vintage wedding gown from the 1970s paired with an heirloom veil dating all the way back to the 1920s. Every detail felt intentional and full of character, reflecting her love for history and classic beauty.
One of our favorite things about photographing wedding days is seeing how each couple incorporates pieces of their story into the celebration, and Kaitlyn and Nathaniel did this beautifully. Their wedding wasn’t simply taking place at meaningful locations; it was taking place in the places where some of the most important moments of their lives had already unfolded.
Their ceremony was held at St. Francis of Assisi University Parish on the campus of the University of Alabama. This church holds such a special and sacred place in their story. It was here that both Kaitlyn and Nathaniel entered the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil Mass. It was here that their faith journey deepened throughout their years on campus. And it was here, after Easter Vigil Mass, that Nathaniel proposed.
After the ceremony, everyone returned to The Drish House for a joyful celebration. The historic architecture, grand staircases, and timeless charm of the estate created such a beautiful backdrop for portraits and the evening festivities. We loved incorporating the character of the property into their photographs, especially with Kaitlyn’s vintage gown and veil that looked perfectly at home within the historic setting and a vintage Rolls-Royce was the perfect added touch for the photos!
Kaitlyn and Nathaniel, it was such an honor to capture this incredible chapter of your story. We are so grateful to have witnessed the joy, faith, and love that surrounded your wedding day, and we are praying for many blessings as you begin married life together. May God bless your new family abundantly!
Xoxo,
Laura
