Red, White, and Blue Backyard Wedding in Pittsburgh, PA | Brianna + Matthew

Brianna and Matthew are the kind of people who are so welcoming, so friendly, that if they were to host a backyard wedding, you would feel like a part of their family. And that is exactly what happened this past Saturday.  In a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA, Bri and Matt were married in a beautiful, intimate ceremony and reception in the backyard of Matt’s childhood home. Their wedding plans had to be altered due to COVID but they decided to stick with their original wedding date.

It was a warm summer day, with moments of sun and clouds, and a nice breeze that kept everyone comfortable. Matt and his father built a stunning wedding arbor that was decorated with fresh florals from The Curly Willow.  The ceremony was so beautiful and had a special, unique aspect to it. Bri’s father walked her down the aisle and then he turned around and officiated the ceremony!  He is a pastor in Michigan and he told us how much it meant to him to marry his daughter. The ceremony was filled with so much laughter and joy! They live streamed the ceremony so that friends and family could celebrate virtually with them.

After the ceremony we went with the bridal party to Oak Hollow Park for some portrait time! The bright red, white and blue of the bridal party colors complimented the green surroundings of the park and made for some epic portraits!! We really enjoyed getting to know their bridal party and spending the day with them! They made us feel like family!

Bri and Matt, we are so thankful for the friendship have formed with you.  Thank you so much for inviting us to capture your special day and welcoming us into your family celebration! We are thrilled that you are finally husband and wife!! Enjoy reliving your incredible day!

Brianna called her bridesmaids and their reactions were priceless! The Facetime First Looks are one of my favorite aspects of a pandemic wedding!  I have been so inspired by how brides have made the most of their wedding days, even when they didn’t go as planned.
