Blush + Indigo Blue Wedding at Holy Family Church in Steubenville, OH | Monica + Mitchell

Monica and Mitchell‘s day was filled with sunshine, joy, happy tears and an overwhelming sense of God’s peace. They, like so many 2020 couples, had to adjust their wedding plans, again and again….and then again. But despite all that 2020 threw their way, they had a gorgeous wedding day and now they are married!  Praise God!

While the girls started the day at the salon, the guys started the day on the golf course. Matthew went with the guys and played golf with them and I went to start photographing details at the Fischer’s home.  When I arrived, I felt so incredibly welcomed by Monica’s family.  Her father shared that he had written and produced a song for their Father/Daughter dance and he shared the video with me.  It was just the start of the day and I was already in tears. The song is called “The Walk” and it’s about all their special walks they have taken throughout the years, including their walk down the aisle.  Gosh, I’m tearing up again just typing this! You should definitely check it out.

Their wedding Mass, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Steubenville,  was so beautiful.  The music was glorious, sung by such talented family and friends. Monica’s cousin is a Dominican priest and he celebrated their wedding Mass. It was so touching to watch how much their families were involved in their day, out of love for this special couple. The entire time at Mass, I felt such peace. God was so present. Fr. Timothy talked about how everyone present was excited for this couple, awaiting their vows with joyous anticipation.  But he also pointed out that God is excited too, and He eagerly awaited their marriage: it was He who created them for this vocation. It gave me a lot to think about. We feel love, joy, excitement and bliss and these are only a taste of Heaven. Thankfully the Mass was live streamed: I am definitely going to go back and re listen to the homily.

After the Mass we headed to the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott for the reception and the joy and celebration only continued!  Monica danced with her father to the song and there wasn’t a dry eye under that tent. One of the details that really struck me were the champagne glasses for Monica and Mitchell! The details on them were so incredibly accurate to their wedding attire! What a treasure to have!

Monica and Mitchell, it was so evident just how much your family and friends love you both.  Thank you so much for including us in your special day.  We felt so welcomed and we loved celebrating, laughing and praying with your loved ones! Enjoy married life you two!!

    Laura & Matthew,
You made me cry!!! These pictures are just beautiful!
I am so glad that you said you felt peace during the mass. As the wedding day drew near, my prayer was that it would be a day filled with peace. You and Matthew brought peace to our home and the day with your kind words and encouragement. Thank you! You both are so much more than photographers. Your gifted talent lies in capturing the love that a family has for each other on film.
