The night before Jessica + Mike’s wedding, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing their rehearsal dinner and welcome party at The Lytle Park Hotel on the rooftop Vista. With a fully retractable glass roof and floor-to-ceiling windows, Vista is such a beautiful setting for a rehearsal dinner in Cincinnati.
I arrived early to photograph their beautiful floral details from Katie’s Blooms and lovely table settings. Each place setting had a name card with a different dried citrus slice indicating the meal they had chosen. Such a unique and clever detail!
Thankfully, the weather cleared up just as the welcome party began, and guests were treated to incredible views of downtown Cincinnati. It was the perfect setting for everyone to gather before the wedding day.
I especially enjoyed getting to meet both families before the wedding. A rehearsal dinner is such a relaxed opportunity for me to meet the parents, family members, and friends who I’ll be spending the wedding day with. I loved chatting with everyone about their excitement for Jessica and Mike and floating around the room capturing candid moments throughout the evening.
There was something really special about photographing this relaxed yet elegant dinner party. It gave me the chance to get to know the people who mean the most to Jessica and Mike, while also documenting another part of their wedding weekend.
I would highly recommend having your photographer capture at least a portion of your rehearsal dinner or welcome party. It made for such a smooth transition into the wedding day, and Jessica and Mike now have beautiful images from the night before to help tell the full story of their wedding weekend.
